Blue Earth Light & Water has completed and submitted our service line materials inventory to the Minnesota Department of Health. The service line inventory is publicly available, and you can check the materials for your service line by visiting the Lead Inventory Tracking Tool (LITT) at https://maps.umn.edu/LSL/ you may also contact us at (507) 526-2191. To complete the service line inventory our system performed record review, community outreach, and/or visual inspections.

As of October 16, 2024, our inventory contains 232 lead, 7 galvanized requiring replacement, 454 unknown material, and 1006 non-lead service lines.

What is HeatShare?

HeatShare is a voluntary nongovernmental program of the Salvation Army that has been in existence since 1982. When you give to HeatShare, you are helping warm the lives of the elderly, people with disabilities, and others who have nowhere else to turn. HeatShare provides the financial assistance on a year-round basis and is used for natural gas, oil, propane, wood, and electricity.

Who does HeatShare help?

· Seniors with low income and no alternative source of help
· People with disabilities who are limited in their ability to maintain income to adequately cover energy costs.
· People who have an unexpected crisis as a result cannot pay for household bills.

Electric Vehicle Purchasing Rebate Program

Eligibility Requirements and other restrictions apply.  Proof of eligibility is required.  This electric vehicle charging equipment rebate is available to Blue Earth Light and Water (BELW) electric utility customers.  Equipment must be installed in the service territory of Blue Earth Light and Water.  This incentive can be combined with any other available state, federal and manufacturers rebates and incentives. Amount of rebate cannot exceed cost of charging equipment and/or installation costs.  Customer must be in good standing with account; we reserve the right to refuse rebate if account is overdue.  BELW reserves the right to provide the rebate in the form of a credit adjustment on customer's electric account.   BELW reserves the right to cancel this rebate program at any time.  

Payment:  Please allow 30 days for payment; payment process may take longer if application is incomplete or required information is not included.  

Approval and Verification:  Pre-approval from BELW is required. BELW reserves the right to verify sales transactions and have reasonable access to your home or facility to inspect the equipment installed under this program, prior to issuing rebates or at a later time.

Warranties:  BELW does not warrant the performance of the equipment installed, expressly or implicitly.  BELW makes no warranties or representation of any kind, whether statutory, expressed or implied, including, without limitations, warranties of merchantability or fitness for particular purpose regarding equipment or services provided by manufacturer or vendor.  Contact your contractor for details regarding equipment performance and warranties.

Application Offer: Details of this program, including rebate levels, are subject to change or cancellation without prior notice.  Completed and signed applications must be submitted within 60 days of the equipment installation to be eligible.

Application Form:  This application must be filled out completely, truthfully and accurately.  The customer must sign, date, and submit the application along with the proof of purchase and registration.  Customer agrees that all information is true and that he/she conformed to the eligibility requirements listed. 

Endorsement: Blue Earth Light and Water does not endorse any particular manufacturer, product or system design in promoting this initiative.

Tax Liability:  Blue Earth Light and Water will not be responsible for any tax liability that may be imposed on the customer as a result of the payment of rebates.

Limitations of Liability:  The liability of Blue Earth Light and Water is limited to paying the rebate specified. Blue Earth Light and Water is not liable for any consequential or incidental damages in tort connected with or resulting from participation in this initiative.

Blue Earth Light and Water (BELW) is municipal utility operated under the direction of The Board of Public Works. The Board is an independently elected board that consist of five members.

BELW as a publicly owned utility has served the community for over a century, beginning with electric service in 1895.

Although there have been many changes in the way of industry standards, technology and equipment over the years, the ability to provide our customers with the most cost effective, reliable service possible has remained consistent.
